Application of Graphene Quantum Dots in the Environmental Field

The special qualities such as adsorbent materials for contaminant removal, optical devices, and sensors with various transduction modes for detecting harmful analytes like pesticides, heavy metals, antibiotics, and food contaminants, as well as novel catalyst systems for degrading pollutants, make GQD nanocomposites particularly well suited for environmental applications. GQDs as photocatalysts, Heterojunction photocatalytic oxidation and reduction systems, heterogeneous systems, various mechanisms involved in pollutant removal/adsorption, and Z-scheme photocatalytic systems are discussed in this chapter.
