Case Selection, Basic Instrumentation, and Operation Theatre Layout for TREAT

  • Ravi P Kanojia

摘要

Case selection during the learning phase of TREAT is essential. The beginner surgeon must look for the best-case scenario while attempting his early cases and try to minimize conversion and time taken for the procedure. This helps to gain confidence with the anesthesia and the rest of the operation team. Often, with the first few cases at any center, the entire team is learning, including the camera person, the anesthetist, and the scrub team. Apart from case selection, surgeons should be well versed with the instrumentation and hardware needed for the procedure. The planning should also include the operation theatre layout, so everything is clear about what goes where. This chapter presents a detailed description of selecting the best-case scenario with case selection criteria. It describes the basics of instrumentation and hardware along with a general plan of operation theatre layout for TREAT.
