This chapter explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the challenges of climate change and its monitoring and mitigation. It examines how AI technologies can be leveraged to address the complex challenges posed by climate change and accelerate efforts towards sustainable and low-carbon solutions. Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges, requiring urgent action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to changing conditions, and transition to a sustainable future. This chapter discusses how AI can play a transformative role in these endeavours.
