Specific Luminescence of Lanthanide Coordination Compounds

Here, electroluminescence and triboluminescence of lanthanide coordination compounds are introduced. The excitation source of the electroluminescence is based on the electron–hole charge recombination, which is much different from that of photoluminescence. The electron and hole transportation processes in device are key factors for bright luminescence from luminescent lanthanide coordination compounds. The excitation mechanism of the triboluminescence of lanthanide coordination compounds is also discussed using previous scientific reports. The electroluminescence and triboluminescence are expected to fabricate the display devices and pressure sensors, respectively.
