The Dadu River watershed is an important part of China's Changjiang (Yangtze) River watershed flood control system. The majority of the Dadu River watershed cascade reservoir group is in a high geological hazard area, so dispatch operations cannot only consider flood prevention and damage reduction, but must also fully consider how to prevent geologic hazards along the reservoir shoreline. For this reason, in the Dadu River watershed, big-data smart technology is deeply merged with reservoir operation related technology. Over time, in-depth exploration has been carried out in areas such as hydrometeorological forecasting, reservoir group joint flood prevention, reservoir shoreline safety, so that the mode of reservoir operations has gradually shifted from a traditional experience-based dispatch operation mode, towards a data-driven intelligent operation mode.
