Overall Adverse Events of Thread Lifting and Its Management

The most common complaint from patients after thread lifting might be dissatisfaction due to the effects not meeting expectations. This dissatisfaction often occurs, especially when threads without cogs are used, or even with cogs, if shorter threads are utilized for the procedure. However, patient satisfaction has been improving significantly due to the upgraded manufacturing methods of the threads and the advancement of techniques. Properly explaining the expectations based on the type and number of threads and the patient’s facial condition can reduce dissatisfaction with the effects after the procedure. Aligning the patient’s expectations with the post-treatment results can also increase satisfaction. The overall satisfaction with thread lifting procedures needs to increase for thread lifting to become more popular and evolve. The causes of dissatisfaction after thread lifting can be divided into four main factors. Although this is a subjective classification by the authors, categorizing and approaching them can help in administering appropriate post-treatment. The causes of post-treatment dissatisfaction are as follows:
