Immunology Encounters Nano-technology: Recent Developments and Future Prospects of Nano-based Drug Delivery Systems
摘要
Biomaterials possess a unique property that makes them suitable for different biomedical applications. The emergence of drug resistance strain demands reduced usage of antibiotics and urges search for an alternate treatment method to directly combat the bacterial infection or to formulate efficient drug delivery methods. Apart from antimicrobial activity, these materials also serve as potent anticancer agent. These formulations need to be biologically active with a potent ability to induce the immune response. However, on many occasions these particles are of not prime choice because of its high toxicity towards host cells and poor biocompatibility which restrict their application. On contrary, in recent time, several nano formulations have been developed which can possibly impact the human health and the environment. Hence, in this present review we provide a series of comprehensive methods of nanoparticle synthesis and its immune response alongside with its biomedical application.
