Revolutionizing Urban Transportation with Sensor Technology and Microactuators
摘要
This paper investigates the impact of advanced sensor technologies and microactuators on urban transportation systems, which play a crucial role in the development of modern cities. The study focuses on how these technologies contribute to the economy, facilitate environmental transformation, and enhance quality of life by addressing key urban challenges including traffic congestion, safety, pollution, and efficiency. The paper outlines the specific domains, obstacles, tasks, and potential solutions involved in implementing an integrated sensor network for comprehensive transportation management. Notable contributions of this research include: (i) providing an overview of the complete urban transportation system and its progression towards an intelligent management system, utilizing a hierarchical approach to vehicle and transport classification; (ii) analyzing competitive sensing technologies that can be integrated as components of the Internet of Things (IoT) to enable effective system monitoring and management. The methodology employed involves identifying the positioning and sensing requirements in urban transport, defining relevant challenges and tasks, and systematically evaluating potential technological remedies. The findings of this study are valuable for the development of smart cities, particularly in enhancing the operation centers of intelligent transportation systems.
