Choosing the BICM-ID System’s M-QAM Mapper

BICM-ID technology has experienced widespread adoption in recent years as a means of enhancing the quality of digital transmission systems. Moreover, paper [14] recommends the utilization of the BIBCM-ID system (which employs block codes) for real-time services. BICM-ID exhibits excellent error performance over both additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and fading channels when employing a wisely designed signal mapping [11]. This capability enables BICM-ID to rapidly approach channel capacity by reducing the bit error rate (BER) at low signal-to-noise ratios. In this article, our focus lies on selecting an good mapping strategy for the M-QAM signal constellation to improve the quality of wireless transmission systems.
