Crack Detection Based on the Wavelet Analysis of a Beam-Like Structure Under the Moving Load

The diagnosis of bridge cracks is an essential issue in engineering that needs to be evaluated periodically. To solve this issue, this paper proposed a vehicle-bridge system model based on the finite element method. Consequently, the bridge is divided into many elements, one of which contains the crack. The wavelet approach has been utilised to examine the dynamic response of the car body in order to identify fractures. The presence of fractures is detected by the prominent peaks observed in the wavelet transform of the vehicle body response.
