Temporal Investigation of Climate Impact on Landslide Pattern in Bageshwar District Uttarakhand India Using Geospatial Approach

Temporal landslide investigation provides an extensive record of the geographic dispensation, geometry, and physical features of landslides that are required for optimizing landslide hazard analysis, risk management, regional planning, better land use management, and development plans, particularly in hilly regions that are highly prone to landslide hazard and disaster. The overall methodology combines the investigation of landslide location temporal datasets obtained through the GSI dataset and high-resolution remote sensing photography. The study’s observational phase lasted from 2015 to 2020. Data from power data access viewer datasets were utilized for the climate trend research. The key goals of the study are as follows: i) To determine the landslide pattern in the research area, ii) Precipitation analysis of patterns from 2015 to 2020, and iii) To be informed about the association between precipitation and landslides in the study area. The study’s findings demonstrate that the occurrence of landslides in the AOI has significantly risen. With the assistance of high-resolution satellite photography, 126 landslide occurrences in various locations were mapped in the research region in 2015 and 202 events occurred in 2020. Geoinformatics approaches are particularly cost-effective for monitoring and mapping landslides in a little period of time. It can additionally be applied for the temporal study of landslide occurrences and estimating the likely location of the landslide.
