Introduction to Biosensors for Personalized Health

  • Kuldeep Mahato

摘要

The integration of biosensors in precision health is a significant advancement in medical diagnostics and personalized medicine. These biosensors can detect small biomolecular changes indicative of disease states, enable continuous, noninvasive, and highly individualized health monitoring. Their core components include biorecognition elements, transducers, and signal processors. This chapter discusses the specificity and binding affinities of these elements, as well as their advantages and limitations in precision health. While the biosensors are applied in areas such as oncology, infectious diseases, cardiovascular monitoring, and other various metabolic disorders facilitating early detection of cancer biomarkers, they also offer rapid diagnostic capabilities for managing outbreaks and providing valuable data for chronic conditions enabling precise monitoring. In addition to this, the synergy between biosensors and digital health technologies has also been discussed with the integration of wearable devices, smartphones, and cloud-based platforms revolutionizing health monitoring and data analytics in this chapter. Also, artificial intelligence and machine learning play a crucial role in interpreting biosensor data, predicting disease trends, and personalizing treatment regimens and will be summarized to set the flow of the test of the chapters.
