NGO Accountability

Accountability is a core rationale of NGOs. It enhances NGOs’ legitimacy, transparency and representation in international community; it enables NGOs to mobilise volunteers, fund and gain media attention and public support. NGO accountability is a four-way inquiry: Accountable to whom? Accountable for what? Accountability how? What does accountability means?
