Regional Machinery

Regional human rights system is well placed at the European, American and African continents. They are by and large, similar with cultural and economic variations. European human rights courts decisions are binding across all Europe. The European Committee on social charter has only recommendatory powers. While Inter-American and African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights have received complaints from individuals and NGOs, NGOs are quite active before the European Courts and Inter-American and African Commissions in getting justice for human rights victims.
