Artificial Tissues and Organs: Revolutionizing and Pioneering the Future of Medicine and Healthcare
摘要
The emerging field of artificial tissue and organs is all set to bring a transformative revolution and a new era in healthcare. The current book chapter presents the state-of-the-art literature on artificial tissue and organ development. This chapter highlights new technologies that can revolutionize medical practices and help in pioneering new frontiers in the field of healthcare and medical sciences. Newly developed technologies, including additive manufacturing, biofabrication, 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering, organoids, and regenerative medicine, are seen as the future of healthcare, thereby showing promise to deal with the current challenges of organ shortages and regeneration. These new technologies can open new doors for treating patients with critical diseases and health conditions for which organ transplants are the only solution. The current study also discussed the critical ethical issues to be considered during the development and application of these technologies. As the current era is on the verge of seeing a medical revolution, a combined approach of integrating both artificial tissue and organs holds promise to reshape the future of healthcare, saving the lives of patients dying due to organ shortages. This can also be viewed as the hope of improving the quality of life for countless individual humans.
