Introduction to Additive Manufacturing Technologies for Bioengineering

Nowadays, AM, or additive manufacturing, crafts genuine 3D objects using ceramics, metals, polymers, or their mixtures. It's a prevalent technology for diverse applications across industries due to its versatility and efficiency. Thus, objects are manufactured using AM used in various fields such as structural, aerospace, electronics and biomedical, etc. Additive biomanufacturing is one of the highly demands in the current scenario for the field of bioengineering, and researches have been continuously working for the development of versatile and flexible bioassisted products. Therefore, in the present chapter, different techniques of AM that are frequently used in the field of bioengineering have been discussed. Further, adoption of different materials for the utilization in the field of bioengineering is also summarized. At the end of this chapter, authors have discussed the future perspective of AM for the development in bioengineering field.
