Representation of Position

We describe the theoretical aspects of the position of celestial bodies. First, we define a variety of time coordinates. Next, we present typical representations of spatial positions and their interrelations. Then, we explain the changes in Earth’s orientation, which produce the major variation of spatial coordinates. Also, we discuss the propagation of electromagnetic waves causing additional variation of spatial coordinates. Finally, we mention the relativistic effects on the position measurements.
