Potentiality of the Wastes as Thermal Insulating Materials for Globular Economy and Sustainability

摘要

Exploiting waste materials as thermal insulators has emerged as a promising solution for addressing sustainability and resource efficiency concerns. Recycling plays a crucial role in conserving natural resources and reducing material consumption. Various waste materials, such as textiles, plastics, agricultural by-products, and minerals, have been extensively used in various engineering areas. Waste materials that possess thermal insulation characteristics are being recycled and converted into valuable resources for thermal insulation applications, which may be used to reduce waste creation and aid in environmental preservation. Sustainable waste management techniques seek to minimize landfill trash and encourage a more balanced approach to consumption by implementing Circular Economy concepts. It also helps in extending the lifespan of natural goods. Waste materials may be critical in reaching sustainable development goals by embracing innovative processes and technologies, highlighting the significance of circular economy concepts in resource recovery and environmental preservation. This chapter deals with the challenges that are faced by waste disposal and various waste materials that can be exploited to make thermal insulators having different properties like low conductivity, acoustic behavior, biodegradability, durability, longevity, etc., and how waste utilization enhances thermal performance, promotes energy conservation, and contributes to cleaner and greener future.
