Oralysis: Development of an Expert System for Early Diagnosis of Oral Health Problems
摘要
Rapid technological advancements have led to novel prospects, including providing health services through mobile applications. Within the context of the Philippines, a substantial portion of the population deals with oral hygiene issues, affecting them with diseases that can significantly impact their overall well-being. In response to this challenge, Oralysis, a mobile-based expert system, has been developed to discern various oral health diseases and guide preemptive measures. The implementation of the decision tree algorithm serves as the cornerstone for disease diagnosis, augmenting the application’s decision-making capabilities through the formulation of simulated queries. The acceptability of the application was evaluated in terms of functionality, usability, and efficiency following the ISO 9126 standards using a five-point Likert scale. The evaluation reveals an average score of 4.06, indicating that respondents rated the application as highly acceptable in diagnosing oral health diseases.
