Challenges and Opportunities for Analyzing Protein–Ligand Interactions
摘要
Proteins are fundamental biological molecules crucial for various cellular processes. They interact with smaller molecules called ligands, influencing their function. This interaction, termed protein–ligand interaction, is vital in numerous biological phenomena, including enzyme activity, hormone regulation, and signal transduction. Understanding the mechanisms governing these interactions is essential for advancements in drug discovery and comprehending various diseases. This review explores the key concepts of protein–ligand interactions, including the different types of ligands, the principles of molecular recognition, and the models explaining binding mechanisms. In addition, it delves into the various experimental and computational techniques employed to investigate the strength and dynamics of these interactions.
