Experimental Investigation on Performance Analysis of Air Source Heat Pump System
摘要
The popularity of heat pumps is increasing over solar water heating systems because of their high reliability in delivering hot water irrespective of climatic conditions. Heat pumps nowadays are being explored for hot water solutions for domestic as well as commercial applications like hotels and resorts in India. In the present work, an air source heat pump for hot water solution is deployed for performance assessment. The air source heat pump with an input power of 742 W and rated capacity of 2282 W was investigated with R-410a as a refrigerant for its performance. The time required to raise water to 60 °C from tap water temperature was recorded. The Coefficient of Performance, along with condenser heat gain, was studied. Techno-economic analysis was also worked out and compared with electric heater. A reduction in power consumption by 75% was observed for the air source heat pump. Due to its reliability and energy-efficient operation, a heat pump can become a promising option and compete with solar thermal systems due to similar capital investment and life expectancy.
