摘要

In the dynamic context of the global energy transformation, environmental concerns and depleting fossil fuels drive interest in sustainable alternatives like biogas and biodiesel. This study focuses on the performance and emissions of a karanja biodiesel-biogas dual-fuel engine, addressing voids in present research and potential areas for future exploration. It explores engine dynamics considering factors like blends, compression ratios, and loads. Increasing loads are associated with increased brake thermal efficiency, whereas biodiesel blends B25 and B50 demonstrate lower brake thermal efficiency, emphasizing the influence of fuel composition. Smoke emissions decrease with higher biodiesel blend percentages and increase with lower compression ratios. Biogas-biodiesel fuel demonstrates reduced smoke and NOx emissions compared to pure biodiesel. Higher compression ratios lead to higher NOx levels, except for B50 biogas-biodiesel blend, showing lower emissions. The research concludes that using biogas-biodiesel mode provides benefits in controlling emissions and offers a comprehensive understanding of the behavior of engines using biogas and karanja biodiesel alternative fuels.
