Exploring the Influence of E-Trust on Virtual Organizations’ Success Through Knowledge Sharing

This study aims to measure the effect of e-trust represented by (source credibility, quality of website, quality of information, and relationship with customers) on virtual organizations’ success through the mediating role of knowledge sharing in virtual organizations. A quantitative method was adopted in the current study. The population of the study consisted of all employees of virtual organizations in Jordan, namely (director, deputy director, head of department, employee); As their number reached six hundred eighty-seven employees in fifteen virtual organizations, a questionnaire was developed as a main tool for data collection. A proportional stratified random sampling was used, and two hundred forty-six questionnaires were distributed. The study indicated that there is an effect of e-trust in its elements (source credibility, quality of website, quality of information, and relationship with customers) on the virtual organizations’ success, there is an effect of e-trust in its elements (source credibility, quality of website, quality of information, and relationship with customers) on knowledge sharing, there is an effect of knowledge sharing on the virtual organizations’ success, and there is an effect of e-trust in its elements (source credibility, quality of website, quality of information, and relationship with customers) on the virtual organizations’ success through knowledge sharing at virtual organizations in Jordan. It was concluded that the impact of e-trust on the success of virtual organizations through knowledge sharing is an indication that e-trust has an ability to influence, along with knowledge sharing, the success of virtual organizations. Therefore, to be effective in today’s increasing and rapid changes, innovation is the first option for sustaining competitiveness and growth, organizations essentially should become smart to meet the changing market requirements and growing customer needs.
