Russia and the Arab States: Dynamics and Prospects

The chapter focuses on the dynamics of Russia’s relations with the Arab World since early this century. At the turn of the centuries Russia’s return the Middle East was prompted by the ambitions of the Russian business community while the political and security dynamics of the first two decades of this century (US Global War on Terrorism and the Arab Spring) made Russia to seriously consider geopolitical risks emanating from the region.
