ASEAN and BRICS+: Opportunities for Cooperation?

The chapter analyses the BRICS+ potential to contribute to closer financial and economic relations between Russia and ASEAN member states, BRICS and ASEAN. The expanding role of developing economies in the world economy and ASEAN’s strategic position in the Asia Pacific region makes ASEAN-BRICS cooperation an imperative. The chapter also assesses the potential of BRICS-ASEAN collective action in the sphere of anti-crisis management for the Global South in particular and for the world economy in general.
