Equality

摘要

Equality in the true sense will be realized only when it is universally recognized and accepted by the public in a modern society and within a market economy. The distinction between modern equality and past occasional instances of “equality” lies in three aspects: its connection with freedom, its acknowledgment of individual differences, and its universality and sustainability. Equality positively influences modern society by effectively guaranteeing freedom, driving development, stimulating social vitality, and ensuring the safe operation of society. The main characteristics of equality include its incorporation of idealized elements, its broad and profound public support, and its demand for higher social costs. However, excessive equality can evolve into extreme and distorted forms, causing significant harm to society. The three major types of deformed equality are institutionalized egalitarianism, the “tyranny of the majority,” and “social tyranny.”
