Investigation of Enhanced Thermosyphon Evacuated Tube Solar Collector for Solar Water Heating

Solar water heaters are less maintenance-intensive and favourable to the environment. Compared to other solar energy systems, this one has reduced operational costs. In India, solar water heating is widely used in a variety of applications, particularly in low-temperature industrial settings. In India, hot water is necessary for hotels, eateries, and other food-related companies. By switching to solar water heating instead of a conventional water heater, homeowners may cut their energy expenses by 70–80% for any application that uses electricity to create heat energy. Depending on consumption and fuel costs, solar water heaters are anticipated to have the shortest payback period of 2 to 4 years. To create solar water, the thermosyphon idea was applied. The project's plastic storage tanks have a 90-L capacity and a 17-m length of 10-mm-diameter copper tubing. On frames that are 28 degrees inclination, solar collectors are placed. The system's highest efficiency works out to 34% for an intake temperature of 32.6 °C, an exit temperature of 45.1 °C, and solar radiation of 902 W/m2. For everyday use, that amount of water is adequate for two to three people.
