Effect of Silicon Carbide (SiC)-Based Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) in Hot Sections of Gas Turbine Engines: Mini Review
摘要
In this review, paper discussion about mechanical and thermal properties of silicon carbide (SiC)-based ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) has been conducted appropriately. To assess the development of CMCs in the hot areas of components for gas turbine engines, the current study examines previously published research publications. It goes through topics including material selection for gas turbine engine components, material usage in recent years for gas turbine engines, and ceramic matrix composites in engine components like nozzle exhaust, combustor, turbine blades and among others. High-temperature materials for the future generation were also discussed for the development of gas turbine engines. Recent findings from CMCs research and development initiatives are presented and explored in-depth in this review work.
