Thermodynamic Analysis of the Biogas-Driven Multigeneration Energy System for Hydrogen Generation

摘要

The present paper investigates biogas-integrated multigeneration arrangements for producing electricity (power), freshwater, hydrogen production, and storage. This work consists of the production of operational biogas, which fuels the Brayton cycle with a single spool, the Rankine cycle with a single turbine, an ORC generating power, membrane distillation, a PEM electrolyser, and hydrogen storage. A thermodynamic assessment is utilized to examine this multigeneration system performance and the effects of various parameters such as compressor inlet temperature, pressure ratio, combustor, and other effects. The generation of hydrogen by the proposed system is 99% pure and has a system efficiency of 59.63%. On the other hand, the ORC system comprising R134a showed competing results in terms of power when compared to other refrigerants. The combined cycle itself generated a network of 411.58 kW, which fulfilled the energy demand for the other sub-cycles to work.
