Regional Geological Background of Sichuan Basin
摘要
The Sichuan Basin, located in the west of the Yangtze platform, extends from the Sichuan province to Chongqing municipality with an area of 1.81 × 105km2. Sichuan Basin a superimposed basin with marine and continental facies, has been subjected to complicated geological structure, and evolved from Craton basin to Foreland basin through the Palaeozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras. The Sichuan Basin is rich in hydrocarbons. In this basin, both conventional and unconventional reservoirs have been explored and developed.
