Radical Prostatectomy Surgery

Radical prostatectomy is a surgical procedure whereby the prostate gland is removed in patients with prostate cancer. Surgical options include open, laparoscopic, or robot-assisted radical prostatectomy. The robotic approach is preferred due to its advantages, including minimally invasive surgery, minimum morbidity, early recovery, and early return to work with good functional and oncological outcomes. Today, robotic radical prostatectomy is the standard of surgical care in the management of localized carcinoma prostate.
