Review of the Current Situation and Problems of Submarine Cable Laying Construction Technology

The study and optimization of submarine cable laying construction technology hold immense engineering significance as offshore resources are gradually being developed and utilized, serving as a crucial channel for the transportation of electrical energy from the sea. Within this context, an examination of the current state of submarine cable laying construction is warranted, with a primary focus on three key stages: cable routing survey and cleaning, submarine cable laying, and burial protection. This review emphasizes the analysis of pivotal technologies utilized in submarine cable laying construction, including submarine cable untwisting, tension control, laying protection, submarine cable laying vessels, positioning systems, fault detection and repair, as well as cable burying machines.
