Hybrid Type Processes and Materials for Textile Effluent Treatment Towards Sustainable Development

摘要

Textile effluent must be appropriately handled before being dumped into the sewer system or water bodies to meet the regulatory standards and to protect the environment. Due to the complexity of textile effluent, the treatment by conventional technologies is restricted. Therefore, hybrid treatment systems are needed to treat this effluent. When utilizing a hybrid technique, such as adsorption-advanced oxidation process (AOP), electrocoagulation-AOP, coagulation-biodegradation, AOP-membrane bioreactor, hybrid materials, etc., the treatment performance can be enhanced. One of the finest treatments for treating textile effluent is a hybrid AOP-biological process. This process gives better treatment along with less economic burden. In addition to hybrid processes, hybrid materials are gaining popularity and they also give the same benefits as a hybrid process. However, research must concentrate on the profitable manufacture of these hybrid materials. In this chapter, various hybrid systems and hybrid materials are examined, with an emphasis on their effectiveness, sustainability, and future potential in the treatment of textile effluent.
