Investigation of Different DGSs for Miniaturized Hexagonal Patch Antennas
摘要
This paper explores the use of a DGS to decrease the size of a microstrip patch antenna. This technique creates a modification by etching in the ground plane, providing a unique approach to size reduction. The primary objective is to shift the resonance frequency from 9.484 GHz to 5.8 GHz by strategically disturbing the antenna’s current distribution with the dumbbell-shaped DGS. The study comprehensively analyzes various DGS classifications and geometries, offering insights into the versatility of different defect patterns and their Influence on antenna performance. The proposed methodology intentionally alters the ground structure, achieving a significant size reduction in the MSP antenna. In particular, for resonance frequency changes in the 5.8 GHz frequency spectrum, our work offers insightful information about optimizing MSP using DGS.
