Analyzing the Performance of RoF System at 10 GHZ and 15 GHz with Optical Carrier Suppression

In the current scenario of wired and wireless communications, Radio over Fiber (RoF) is proving it as backbone for wireless access network due to its high transmission capacity, low cost, low attenuation, significant mobility, flexibility and ease of access. Along with the advantages, there are also some drawbacks of RoF system such as signal impairments, noise and distortion that limit the overall performance of the system which is required to be eliminated. In this paper performance of RoF system having two RF signals (10 GHz and 15 GHz) with optical carrier suppression has been analyzed. The performance of the system has been investigated in terms of bit error rate (BER), eye height and Quality factor by varying the input power with respect to fiber length. It has been observed that by changing the input power as well as distance the output is significantly affected in terms of Q Factor, BER and eye height for both of the RF signals.
