Theoretical Framework for Calculating Jet Fire Risk Induced by High-Pressure Transient Leakage

  • Kuibin Zhou

摘要

This chapter presents a theoretical framework for predicting the behaviors and properties of large jet fires resulting from high-pressure gas leakage. The theoretical framework consists of the gas leakage model and the notional nozzle model from Chap. 2, the jet flame combustion model from Chap. 3, the thermal radiation model from Chap. 4, and the thermal damage criteria for people and structures from available literature. The robustness of the theoretical framework is validated by field test results of hydrogen, natural gas, and hydrogen/natural gas mixture jet fires. This chapter also provides a ranking of input parameters by importance for the theoretical framework through parameter sensitivity analysis, finally followed by a probit analysis of jet fire accidental consequences using uncertainty analysis.
