Flame Behavior of Jet Diffusion Fire

  • Kuibin Zhou

摘要

In this chapter, a comprehensive review is conducted on the available correlations for flame length, lift-off distance and radiative fraction of jet fires in still air. The gas transient leakage model from Chap. 2 can be integrated into these correlations for the calculation of high-pressure jet fires. A comparison between model calculations and experimental measurements indicates that the correlations for flame length and radiative fraction, which are based on the flame Froude number, are superior. Following the review of jet fires in still air, an explorative review is also conducted on the interactions between the jet fire and various factors such as cross wind, leakage exit shape, obstacle, solid particle, pit, and underwater conditions .
