摘要

This chapter presents the applications of adaptive impedance converters in grid-connected systems for renewable energy integration and power quality compensation. To enlarge the reactive power compensation range and reduce the operational power loss, different hybrid inverter topologies have been proposed, including a hybrid grid-connected inverter (HGCI) and static var compensator (SVC) in parallel with a CGCI (SVC//CGCI). This Chapter introduces the SVC//CGCI and HGCI in terms of circuit structure, control system, parameter design, characteristic analysis, and experimental verifications. The HGCI not only has a low voltage inverter rating but also a wide range of reactive power compensation and active injection. In contrast, the SVC//CGCI has both low voltage and current inverter ratings for a wide range of reactive power compensation.
