Emerging Issues in the Rehabilitation of the Victims of Terrorism in Nigeria

Terrorism is an age-long criminal activity and has since become a major securitysecurity and economiceconomic challenge to governments, with global economic impact of 33 billion US dollar (Global Terrorism Index in Measuring the impact of terrorism, 2019). The primary objective of terrorismterrorism is not only to kill people and dispossess them of their properties but to instil fear in their minds as well as to put “sufficient political and economic pressure on government so that it concedes to the demands of the terrorists” (Enders & Sandler 1996; cited in Chuku, et al. 2017: 1).
