International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation and National Security in Nigeria

NigeriaNigeria emerged in 1960 as an independent state and the 99th member of the United Nations. Among the major issues, confronting the world at that time was the polarisation of the world as occasioned by the Cold War and decolonisation as well as the struggle against apartheid. Nigeria recognised the peculiar implications of these issues for the continent in general and Nigeria in particular and as such made Africa the centrepiece of her foreign policy.
