Exploring the Potential of Phytochemicals: A Herbal Boon Against the MDR Bacteria Associated with the Chronic Wounds

The Current study aimed at potential of phytochemical, applications in herbs, used to treat and prevent many MDR Bacteria which is associated with chronic wound. Multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens are a global threat and have created problems in providing adequate treatment of many infectious diseases. Although the conventional antimicrobial agents are quite effective against several pathogens, yet there is a need for more effective antimicrobial agents against MDR pathogens. Herbal drugs and phytochemicals have been used for their effective antimicrobial activity since ancient times and there is an increasing trend for the development of plant-based natural drugs for the preventing and cures of chronic wounds. The phytochemical investigations of traditionally used medicinal plants have shown the diversified useful compound classes like alkaloid, phenolic, tannin, terpene, steroid, flavonoid, glycoside, and fatty acid. These phytochemical components play an important role in scavenging free radicals, fighting infection, and promoting a faster chronic wound-healing process. Phytochemicals can serve as a cost-effective alternative therapeutic agent for human diseases.
