Tinospora cordifolia is a climbing shrub that grows on other trees, from the botanical family Menispermaceae. The plant is native to India but is also found in tropical areas of many countries. Although people have been using Giloy, since ancient times, generally at that time it was used for animals but in a global pandemic like COVID-19, people used it in large quantities and only after that the process of research on it started. The infection of COVID-19 severity is variable and affect all ages people and especially elderly people whose immune system is very weak. This Herbs have various potential compounds which used influences immunity and maintenance of the haemostasis of inflammation, anti-inflammatory and scientists are still working to understand its useful properties. Giloy is generally used for fever urinary problems, asthma dysentery, diarrhea, skin infections, Hansen’s disease (formerly called leprosy), diabetes, jaundice, anorexia, eye conditions and it act as a natural disease reliever for the human body. The wide range of uses and potential health benefits from giloy come from numerous beneficial plant compounds found throughout the plant. Tinospora cordifolia has secondary metabolite compounds like terpenoids, alkaloids, lignans, steroids. The compounds show they have antimicrobial, antiviral, anticancer, and antidiabetic properties also they are known to have therapeutic benefits high, law blood pressure (BP), pain relief, cancer, malaria, intestinal spasms, ovarycystic infection, ovarian cancer. In view of its antioxidant effect, the Giloy is widely used for immunotherapies and other immune system benefits viz., allergies, bacteria, and pathogens. It’s able to prevent the growth of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp. This led us to believe that Giloy has a multitalented potential, immunity booster activity is to be explored, and further studies are needed to ensure this activity.
