Social Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Arab World: The Trinity of Education, Health, and Social Interactions

  • Said Elhussein Abdelli

摘要

Although the COVID-19 is an epidemic that is treated in research laboratories in order to discover the appropriate vaccination to confront it, its multiple social effects cannot be overlooked. This pandemic was distinguished from its predecessors by its rapid spread and devastating effects on humans and society. Which made it a sociological subject in order to approach its effects on society, individuals, and groups and in various fields. The social effects of this epidemic, which quickly turned into a pandemic, were in fact multiple and even caused several social problems whose effects are still present. This is because these repercussions were directly caused by the pandemic, when the infection occurred, or indirectly because of the protective measures imposed by the prevention policies, which dictated a certain lifestyle, in which direct social relations are reduced. On the other hand, the need for social media has increased. What concerns us here, and in relation to our research, is that this pandemic has different social effects. We will work to show some of its aspects through the triad of education, health and social interactions. Such three areas are, in my opinion, one of the most important challenges faced by Arab countries during the pandemic.
