Epidemiology of Nontraumatic Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head in the United States
摘要
This chapter provides an in-depth analysis of the epidemiology, risk factors, and demographic distribution of nontraumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) in the United States. It explores trends over the past decades, highlighting variations in incidence and prevalence across different populations and risk factor exposures. Additionally, it addresses the impact of evolving medical practices, such as reduced corticosteroid use in transplant patients, and the potential long-term effects of corticosteroid use for other conditions, such as COVID-19.
