Investigating Sensor Technology and Benefits of Intelligent Transport Systems

Transportation acts as a backbone for all the countries. Advanced Information Technology has given novel solution to many complex problems in the field of intelligent transportation system (ITS). An ITS uses various ranges of telematics methods, which provides consistent and interconnected communication channel. An ITS system comprises of different kinds of sensors integrated in modern vehicles which coordinate and control the vehicle operations and improve its overall performance. The big data generated by these sensors need a robust intelligent system to store, process and utilize it. In this study, we have discussed needs and benefits of ITS for a nation. Further we have discussed the recent advancement in the field of sensor technology which will enhance the function and performance of ITS.
