Image Encryption Technique Using S-Box and Discrete Cosine Transform

Recently, the secure transmission of digital data on the private communication channel and internet has become an emerging research area. This study suggested a chaotic map, substitution box (S-box) and discrete cosine transform (DCT)-based image encryption approach. The chaotic map pseudo-randomness nature is exploited and applied to encrypt the images. Chaotic map-based approach to construct S-box is proposed to scramble the image DCT coefficients. Initial conditions and control values of chaotic maps will be considered as a security key. Proposed approach is evaluated with information entropy, histogram, correlation parameters and key sensitivity analysis. This performance analysis shows the strength and capabilities of the approach.
