Solar-Based Mulching Paper Hole Maker

This paper proposes a solar-based mulching paper hole maker for small-scale farmers. The device utilizes solar energy to create holes in mulching paper, which is commonly used for the prevention of evaporation of moisture from the soil surface in agriculture. This system consists of a solar panel, battery, diodes, and a nichrome wire used as a coil that creates holes in the mulching paper. The DC battery is charged using a solar panel and then the nichrome wire is heated using this DC battery. The design of the system is simple, cost-effective, and easy to operate, making it suitable for use by small-scale farmers in developing countries. This system is capable of piercing mulching paper with high perfection and uniformity, and it can significantly reduce the manual power required for this task. By reducing water usage, decreasing the use of herbicides, and using inexhaustible energy sources, this technology contributes to sustainable agriculture practices.
