A Comparative Review of Resource Optimization and Provision Techniques in Cloud Computing
摘要
Cloud computing is playing the major role to manage the user data virtually either an enterprise or an individual. Nowadays, almost everyone is using cloud directly or indirectly. Managing user data while satisfying the SLA with maintaining QoS is quite challenging. It is very complex to maintain the service with low cost and low power consumption. Primary challenge for every resource provider is to manage cost, power, and time while maintaining SLA. With all this, proper resource utilization is also needed to make it more efficient. In this paper, we have discussed various resource provisioning mechanisms with respect to the power, cost, and time. We present the current methods being used at various service levels such as SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS. Literature review shows some of the related works that have been done so far and what goals are achieved. Various static and dynamic approaches have been presented with their achievements and drawbacks. Cost is one of the prime factors for any organization, either cloud user or service provider. In recent years, migration of data and network has been significantly increased over cloud. Migrating and managing data over cloud network is very expensive. There are major factors affecting cost such as size of data, type of service, resources, duration, power consumption, maintenance, and many more. All these factors are affecting cost weather it is an individual user or an enterprise even service provider. In this article, we are going to discuss different approaches worked for the improvement of cost with better power efficiency and resource utilization. At last, we have concluded the overall challenges and future work that can be done.
