Journey of Indian Space Organisation (ISRO)

Various nations across the globe are actively involved in space research to look for improving environment, possibility of life in space, etc. ISRO, the Indian space research organization, is also contributing largely in the noble cause of sustainable development by carrying our various experiments related to environment and other studied through use of space technologies. Established in 1969, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was founded with the goal of engaging in scientific, engineering, and technological endeavors to harness the advantages of outer space for the benefit of India. Its primary objective is to advance and apply space technology to address diverse national requirements. To achieve its objectives, ISRO has established space system for communication, TV broadcasting, and meteorological services. Launch vehicles like PSLV and GSLV are established for the launching of satellite in the required orbits. In this chapter, we will provide a concise overview of the evolution of ISRO from its inception.
