N-Fluorobenzenesulfonimide (NFSI): A Multipurpose Reagent
摘要
N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide (NFSI) is a chemical reagent that is utilized in organic synthesis as a nitrogen and fluorine source. It is a crystalline white to light yellow solid that is hydratable in polar solvation medium such as DMF as well as DMSO. In recent years, the NFSI has been explored for the construction of fluorine or nitrogen bonds in (hetero)aromatic compounds. It has been demonstrated that it possesses strong site selectivity and broad functional group compatibility in a numerous reaction. Because of its capacity to emit fluorine gas upon reduction, NFSI can also be utilized as an oxidizing agent in specific reactions. NFSI is a commercially available and reasonably priced reagent that can be used in both academic and industrial contexts. The evolution of novel techniques that allow the use of NFSI in various transformations, such as selective oxidation or reduction processes, could be an intriguing field of investigation. This review broadly recapitulates the noteworthy advancement of the well-organized and mild amidation reactions and its importance on methods for the production of nitrogen-placed intermediate and new synthetic methodologies which proposes the probabilities to overcome hindrances in the medicinal industries. Also, the mechanism of NFSI-mediated reactions and discovering new reactivity modes may aid in the advancement of highly efficient and distinct synthetic techniques.
